Tutoring program is a program that is designed to strengthen the freshman's basic understanding of the given subject by selecting students with different backgrounds and potentials Especially, this program is helpful for freshmen who don’t have their high school alumni at KAIST, since they can get overall course(subject) information from Tutors.
This program is for freshman and it's focused on the basic courses (Calculus, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Programming).
In principle, tutor: student ratio should be 1:2, but 1:1 can be possible, and it should be 26 hours in total, 2 hours for each week, and 13 weeks in total.
The tutoring period, in principle, should fall within a given semester. Tutoring fees are 25,000 Korean won per hour. The fees for freshmen are subsidized in principle but the subsidies will be offered only within the budget, so students requiring social solicitude (i.e. low-income class, child-headed households, and quasi-poor class), vocational high school graduates, foreigners, and those having passed the high-school equivalency examination will be selected with priority.
